BlackBoard Collaborate
This is the Baylor recommended platform when needing to present in a webinar format.
The the focus of this format is content, which could include:
The total number of participants in a session is unlimited.
Showing additional videos (such as from YouTube) through Collaborate usually does not work well.
Recording is as easy as pushing a button; then it will be available with Collaborate in BlackBoard.
There are also features such as polls, chats, and document sharing.
Cisco/Jabber
This can format is recommended when video-conferencing (face-to-face discussions) are the primary mode of communication wanted.
This format is similar to Skype but is not only secure but allows up to 24 participants.
The School of Social Work has 2 Cisco/Jabber carts that can be used in classrooms to connect to Jabber.
There is a Share Presentation feature that allows PowerPoints and documents to be shared with participants.
To set up a session of more than 2 participants, please contact Jim Heston.
